LOCATION
Cabañas Los Andes is magnificient isolation, yet only a short drive away from the vibrant tourist capital of central Chile and launching point to some of the most spectacular scenic volcanic mountains that offer the seasoned traveler a diversity of year-round activities.
Chillán is located between the dusty desert landscapes of the north and the rugged terrain of the south, in a region known as Middle Chile, the geographic heart of the nation and the most diverse in its array of activities and opportunities for travelers. Cabañas Los Andes are located just off National Highway 5 between Santiago and Concepción.
Getting there and back: During the peak season, LAN Chile offers a weekly 90-minute flight between Chillán and Santiago. In addition, a comfortable and memorable daily train ride is available between Santiago to Chillán along with hourly Executive Class rapid bus service. Each is about 4 hours in duration.
Cabañas Los Andes is situated in Valle Las Trancas, a short 45-minute drive from downtown Chillán. To get there from Chillán, head East toward the snow-capped Andes Mountains. Take the highway to Termas de Chillán. Cabañas Los Andes are located at Km. 70.4, as you drive up the paved mountain road. Our gateway location gives visitors easy access to the Cabañas and to multitude of activities in the area.

ACCOMMODATIONS AND AMENITIES

We now have Stu, our own in-house ski professional! With over 10 years
of teaching and mountain guiding, Stu has experience all over Europe
(French and Swiss Alps, Spanish and French Pyrenees) and South America
(Argentina and Chile Andes). And, of course, he knows the Bio-Bio
Region and Termas de Chillan like the back of his hand. Stu can lead
your group in English, Spanish or Portugese and can work with complete
beginners to experienced powder hounds. You're in safe hands!
Stu is available for an hour or two of coaching on specific areas of
your skiing (carving, bumps, off-piste, tricks) either individually or
in small groups. More usually, Stu takes larger groups for guided
tours for the day (or half-day). As your guide, Stu shows you how to
safely enjoy the best runs and the best powder available in the huge
terrain of Termas de Chillan, while (if you want) giving you tips for
improving your skiing. Stu also offers his famous video feedback on
your skiing with footage taken on the latest helmet cam (the camera
never lies!). This can be viewed in comfort back at Cabanas Los Andes,
and copied to CD/DVD, as a perfect souvenir of your stay!
